16 September — The 6th Annual Gila River Festival: Celebrating the Gila's Web of Life. The Festival features guided field trips, a film festival, night hikes, a noted keynote speaker, children's activities, gallery tour, and much more. Location: Silver City and Gila National Forest

- Fifth Annual Mimbres Valley Harvest Festival
25 September — As the growing season continues, residents of the Mimbres Valley will be coming together to celebrate their life in the valley, inviting everyone to their Fifth Annual Mimbres Valley Harvest Festival, Saturday, September 25th, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A day long hoe down, when farmers put down their hoes for the season, is planned with farmers’ market, storytellers, musicians and craftspeople coming together to share their love of the Mimbres at the San Lorenzo Elementary School, just off of NM Highway 152.

Annual Pinos Altos October Fiesta
Each year, the residents and businesses of historic Pinos Altos host an October Fiesta as a fund-raiser for the Pinos Altos Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department and other community projects including roadside/public area cleanup.read more |

Tour of The Gila
Held in May of each year, this annual bike race brings world class cyclists to the Silver City area from all over the world. The last day of the race, the tour winds through the Gila National Forest to the Gila Cliff Dwellings and ends on Main Street in Pinos Altos in front of the Buckhorn Saloon. read more |
