Folk Series at the Opera House: Antje Duvekot.
The Folk Series is one of silver City's signature events. Join locals and visitors alike for the Folk Series at the Opera House. Come early and have dinner at the Buckhorn, then relax and enjoy the show in the intimate setting of the Opera House. Antje Duvekot has solidified her reputation as one of America’s top emerging singer songwriters with "Big Dream Boulevard", her debut studio release. The CD was released on acclaimed songwriter Ellis Paul’s label, Black Wolf Records, and has quickly attracted international attention for Antje, voted "1 Folk Release of 2006" by the Boston Globe. Artist Lecture Series: Katherine Brimberry.
The Artist Lecture Series is presented in partnership with the Western Institute for Lifelong Learning (WILL) and the WNMU Expressive Arts Department. This program provides an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of America's finest artists. Held at Parotti Hall on the WNMU campus, participants have the opportunity to learn about an artist's motivations, techniques and history while being generally entertained.
